Thank You for participating in CU Challenge 2022
Thank you to everyone who participated in the CU Challenge 2022. We challenged the Irish credit union movement to join together to ‘virtually’ walk from Ireland to the Foundation’s three core countries, The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Ethiopia.
Well done to everyone who took part – walking over 18 million steps and raising over €14,500 for the Foundation’s work. Whether you walked 100 or 100,000 steps, we were delighted that you took on the CU Challenge 2022! And to everyone who donated to our CU Challenge, thank you – your support will help us to continue to help others.
Well done to the CU Challenge 2022 winners*
(*Steps are tallied by dividing the total team steps by the number of people on the team.)
The top three teams will each receive a trophy, with thanks to RBK for kindly sponsoring the trophies.
Thank you for Stepping Up
From the 11th – 20th October, 2021 we asked staff and volunteers from the Irish credit union movement to get involved in our first-ever CU Challenge – to ‘virtually’ walk from the League’s office on Mount Street, Dublin to the Foundation’s field office on Fort Street, Sierra Leone – 10 million steps in 10 days – to raise awareness and funds for the continued development of the credit union movement in Sierra Leone.
It’s no surprise that Irish credit unions went above and beyond the ask – walking over 36 million steps in 10 days and raising €31,882.01.
And the winners are…
Congratulations to the winning teams who walked the most steps over the 10 days…
Thank you to everyone who registered, got their steps up and donated. Thanks to Rooney Media for designing and sponsoring the winning plaques.
Last October, collectively we walked/ran 3.48 million steps in 10 days as part of the CU Step Up Challenge to raise funds for credit unions in Sierra Leone! The momentous effort from all the staff and volunteers resulted in us topping the National Leader Board…we’re a competitive bunch when we get going.
Thank You! We had great fun taking part in the STEP-UP challenge to raise awareness and funds for the continued development of the credit union movement in Sierra Leone.
The 2021 Step Up challenge was a super event for Roscommon Credit Union to be involved with and we were thrilled to be awarded with our trophy for 3rd place. It was a testament to the staff and volunteer’s commitment to the ‘Stepping up for Sierra Leone’ not to mention the competitive natures that were revealed during the process!
We walked an impressive 2,724,893 steps over the ten days. The healthy competition spurred some participants on. Some staff members outdid themselves throughout this challenge!
The team at Athlone Credit Union really stepped up for this challenge completing 1,599,072 steps over the 10 days.
