Camino 2017 ILCU Foundation Fundraiser: 200,000+ Steps

Camino 2017 ILCU Foundation Fundraiser: 200,000+ Steps

In May 2017,  as a fundraiser for the ILCU Foundation’s projects in the developing world, for the first time, a group of ILCU Foundation credit union volunteers joined a team of fundraisers from our partner in Ethiopia, Gorta-Self Help Africa, to walk the last 100 KM of the Camino de Santiago de Compostela. This walk raised vital funds for our core credit union projects in Africa in The Gambia, Sierra Leone and Ethiopia. Below is a Day-by-Day Picture Gallery of our fundraising walk.

The following people raised vital money for credit union projects in the developing world, over and above any credit union’s voluntary contribution by walking over 200,000 steps:

  1. Stacy McGrath (Aughrim Street Parish and District Credit Union Ltd. / Palmerstown Credit Union Ltd.)
  2. Treasa Fagan (Finglas Credit Union Ltd. /Ballygall Credit Union Ltd.)
  3. Eugene McDonough (Bunclody Credit Union Ltd. /New Ross Credit Union Ltd.)
  4. Orla Cooke—ILCU Foundation (South Dublin Credit Union Ltd. / Savvi Credit Union Ltd.)
